Here are some of my basic dressing rules:

  1. Never feel as if you are dressing for someone else – dress for yourself.
  2. Good undergarments are key.  Make sure that you always have a great foundation, one that enhances your figure.
  3. Grooming does matter. Looking put together makes you not only feel good but look professional. Try and maintain your standards even if you’re not leaving home.
  4. Always have a lint brush handy. If you have pets like I do — and I do love them — showing up with pet air on your frocks is a fashion “faux paw.”
  5. Watch clothes that fit too tight. Even the best figures look better if their clothes fit well.
  6. Never let age or weight determine your style.
  7. Getting dressed should be easy. When it’s a challenge, it’s no longer fashion.
  8. A total styled look always starts with one piece and/or accessory.
  9. You can never go wrong with pearls.
  10. You should always keep a “look book” of styles that you would like to try.
